In this lesson I shared the following:
- Pre-diabetes is when your blood sugar level is higher than normal but not high enough to be type 2 Diabetes
- Some terms heard at your doctor or healthcare provider: A1C, Insulin resistance, blood glucose, blood glucose level, BMI (Body Mass Index), Fasting Plasma glucose and Oral Glucose tolerance test.
- There are multiple risk factors that increase chances of progression from pre-diabetes to type 2 Diabetes such as
- Your weight
- Waist size
- The way you eat
- How active you are,
- How old you are
- Whether you have high blood pressure or high cholesterol
