In this lesson I shared the following:

  • Pre-diabetes is when your blood sugar level is higher than normal but not high enough to be type 2 Diabetes
  • Some terms heard at your doctor or healthcare provider: A1C, Insulin resistance, blood glucose, blood glucose level, BMI (Body Mass Index), Fasting Plasma glucose and Oral Glucose tolerance test.
  • There are multiple risk factors that increase chances of progression from pre-diabetes to type 2 Diabetes such as
    • Your weight
    • Waist size
    • The way you eat
    • How active you are,
    • How old you are
    • Whether you have high blood pressure or high cholesterol
