FREE COURSE For Parents and Guardians: Healthy Weight for Healthy Kids/Teens

Childhood obesity is one of the many health observances highlighted in September.  Unfortunately children and teens from communities of color are still most affected, compared to children and teens from other racial and ethnic groups.  I remember when former first lady Michelle Obama unveiled her Let’s Move campaign.  Along with her team, she mobilized our nation’s families to take action for a healthier today and tomorrow.  This campaign was brilliant!  Today, the Let’s Move website is no longer active, it is now part of the Obama White House Archives.  However, the essence of Let’s Move still lives!

I created a FREE online course to coach families in creating a family centered healthy lifestyle change plan.  A family centered healthy lifestyle plan is recommended by health experts and researchers for kids and teens who have gained too much weight.  I recently moved to one of the states with the highest obesity rates, Mississippi.   It is my hope that this course will give hope to families and be beneficial in creating a healthy future for children and teens living in Mississippi and the rest of the United States!

Please check out the course or share it with someone you think may benefit from it.  This course is a great resource for individuals and parent groups.   If you don’t belong to a parent group create one, through your child or teen’s school, at work, a community center or your place of worship.  The course is FREE to the public.  It is the first of a series of healthy lifestyle courses that LLBJ Culinary and Wellness Enterprises LLC will offer to the public for FREE.
